Hey there. I’m Aaron Lahman and I just want to share five reasons that I’m a health and business coach with Young Living. So, the first one is health. I’ve seen my life transformed here in the last 13 years of using Young Living products. I’ve seen so many of our teammates and our business partners make big transformations in their wellness. I get excited about walking side by side with people and helping people find solutions to their wellness challenges. Helping people with their health is what drives me. I don’t think we were educated when we were children as to all the little details, the little habits that can really take us to the next level in our lives and in our wellness journey. So health is the number one motivator for me.
My second reason is community. I think that technology is beautiful, and I also think that community, connections, and relationships are the real bliss in this life. I think that this aspect, the connections, the relationships that we’ve grown, the friendships that we have now that we didn’t have 5 years ago when we started growing this business, have been game-changing for our lives. I feel grateful for all of our business partners, and I choose to see each of them as our friends first. We’ve walked through many different parts of our individual journeys, of our life journeys together. And I feel so grateful. Community is a huge, huge motivator for me. I choose to create a community of wellness, of fulfillment, of dream-living, and of compassion! And if I can be a part of growing such a tribe by inviting one more person into a community that prioritizes these things, I can feel really good about that.
So, my third reason for growing our Young Living business is I spent five years teaching high school math. And to be honest, I found myself irritated by the daily math conversations. I loved my students, but couldn’t get so excited about math! I found myself annoyed by having to talk about math every day when all I really wanted to talk about was, life and leadership and mindset and dreams and health. Those are my real life passions, and math was not it. I couldn’t imagine 25 more years of quadratic equations. And so I had to say goodbye to that journey. That’s one aspect of a my math teaching journey that caused me to move on. The second aspect was that I had a frozen teacher’s salary for four of those five years. The fifth year I changed school districts, so I did get a little bump in pay. But, the first four years I saw no growth in my salary, even though I was getting better as a teacher, & even though I poured my heart and soul into my students everyday. My salary felt disrespectful. I knew I had to say goodbye to math. I had to say goodbye to the public school teaching journey because I didn’t see my dreams coming true. I didn’t see the dreams that I had, the dreams that my wife had all coming true. And that made me sad, you know? It felt clear that it was time to make a shift. I saw other people having success on their Young Living business journey, and I said, let’s do this. Let’s figure it out. Let’s find a way.
My fourth motivator was/is my desire for time freedom. I like to work from wherever I am. I was working on the beach this afternoon. I was working in a coffee shop this morning. And we can now work from anywhere in the world. For me, that freedom & flexibility energizes my Soul. Growing a successful Young Living business is going to allow me to be a present father rather than an absent father, and that excites me. I choose to have time for family. I choose to have time for friends. I choose to have time for all the good things in life. I think that often times we either choose time freedom or we choose financial freedom. And I feel like this Young Living business opportunity gives us a legitimate shot at creating a life that has both, both time freedom and financial freedom.
And my last reason for growing this business is the personal development journey. Entrepreneurship is not what we were raised in. Most of us were raised in a public school system, where we were raised in the Monday through Friday, the 9 to 5. And, for many of us, we finished our school career feeling like sleepy, unprepared robots. It felt as if we had been trained to be sheep and to just follow, get a job, suck it up, live for the weekends. And that reality really saddens me. It saddens me that that’s what we were sold. We were sold this robot life for all those years. So, for me this business opportunity is such a great option, yet it does require dedication to choosing new thought patterns & ways of being & acting. The personal development aspect of this business journey is not a change we can make overnight. The mindset required to create business success requires big commitment. Where I am today, is not where I was five years ago. I had a little bit of entrepreneurial background as a massage therapist and also as a swim instructor growing up, but I didn’t understand fully that our mindset, our personal beliefs, our self-confidence would have such an impact on our entrepreneurial success. What has been great about the personal development that this business journey has required, is that my wife & I have both been invited to level up in so many other areas of our lives as well.
I like to think of it like this… We can either do the mindset work, or not do the mindset work. We can do the healing which can feel painful & scary, or we can skip the healing & still experience the pain of not growing & improving. At the end of the day, we can avoid the healing & mindset work the next 50 years, but inevitablly there will still be pain & challenges & hurts that will come our way. Or, we can do the personal development, we can make the mindset shifts, we can do the trauma healing; and then we will start to see our life with new eyes, our shoulders may relax a bit more, and we will learn new skills and tools that will bless every area of our lives.
So there you have it! Those are five of the main reasons that I feel passionate about this Young Living business journey. I get super excited about helping other people launch their own businesses because, even thought it’s not easy, it is so so good. And that is what life is about, in my opinion, is about doing good things & growing into our full potential. This journey is worth it. It’s 100% worth it. Our dreams are worth it. Our visions for our future are worth it. Our family and our friends are worth it and we are all worth it.
Thanks for listening.
